Ingredients
- 1 piece of fresh ginger - has anti-inflammatory properties and boosts the immune system
- 1 tsp turmeric powder (or fresh turmeric) - contains curcumin, a powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties
- Pinch of black pepper - enhances the bioavailability of curcumin in the body
- 1 tbsp honey - soothes and relieves sore throat
- 250ml rice milk - a dairy-free alternative, rich in nutrients
- 250ml water
- Cinnamon for garnish
Preparation
- Peel and finely grate the fresh ginger.
- In a small saucepan, combine the grated ginger, turmeric powder (or fresh turmeric), black pepper, honey, and water.
- Simmer the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly, until a paste forms.
- Allow the paste to cool.
- Heat the rice milk, but do not bring it to a boil.
- Stir the paste into the warm rice milk.
- Pour the Golden Milk into cups and garnish with a pinch of cinnamon.
